Operation Santa Claus helps children in need | News
BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC)- On Tuesday, it looked like Santa's workshop at the Colleton River Plantation Club as folks wrapped present after present for the annual Operation Santa Claus initiative. This year they raised $34,000 to help provide Christmas presents for close to 225 children and mentally challenged adults in the Bluffton community.
"I think it's a good way for all of us to kick off the holiday and give back to the community we live in," said Marsha Murphy, organizer.
In addition to all of this, they are giving money to local schools to help provide needy children with school uniforms and shoes. They will also donate to Backpack Buddies, which provides snacks for children in need.
